Whitening with the Brilliant Smile method is always performed by certified staff and is a completely safe treatment method. Dentists must of course thoroughly examine the teeth and treat damaged teeth before teeth whitening treatment can begin. Before the whitening, various superficial stains are polished away. Then Brilliant Smile's pH-neutral whitening gel is applied and activated with plasma light. The gel releases free radicals, which in this case are used to penetrate and destroy stains in the tooth without damaging or otherwise altering the enamel. Mild tingling may be experienced during or after the treatment, but with Brilliant Smile's whitening, any tingling is transient and harmless. If the gel comes into contact with the gums or soft tissues of the mouth, it may lead to irritation, but this phenomenon also disappears within a few days and is nothing to worry about - be careful with the toothbrush near the affected area to avoid worsening any irritation.

Teeth Whitening
There are many different teeth whitening products on the market, and new players constantly emerge promising both safety and results. Within the EU, there are laws that set requirements for teeth whitening products sold within the EU and thus also on the Swedish market. Unfortunately, there are, however, producers who do not follow these guidelines. Before a whitening, regardless of the treatment form, it is therefore important to ensure that products that do not damage the teeth are used. Therefore, be careful to review the content of the product, and if you are unsure - contact the Medicines Agency.
All Brilliant Smile's products are pH-neutral and EU-approved. Our gels also contain additives that counteract tingling and strengthen the enamel. We use plasma light with minimal heat development; this does not damage the pulp inside the tooth, which is otherwise heat-sensitive. The plasma light is also completely free from cancer-causing UV rays and harmful wavelengths. We care about you as a customer, and treatment with Brilliant Smile should give you a good result - both quickly and safely! Under Our retailers, you can find the clinics that use the Brilliant Smile method. If you are unsure, you can always contact us.
A dentist should determine that you are a suitable candidate for teeth whitening before scheduling a treatment. If you have cavities or cracks in the teeth, there is a risk of discomfort if the whitening gel penetrates these. It is not dangerous or likely to happen, as cavities rarely occur on the front of the teeth, but it's best to be on the safe side. It is also important to remove tartar before the treatment to achieve the best possible result, as the whitening gel does not penetrate the tartar.
The most common side effect of teeth whitening is tingling and sensitivity in the teeth. This is not dangerous but can be unpleasant. With Brilliant Smile's products, side effects are less common. This is because Brilliant Smile's whitening gels are pH-neutral and do not corrode the enamel. The gels have a high water content and also contain substances that strengthen and repair damage to the enamel, ultimately giving healthier and stronger teeth. You may experience mild tingling during or just after the treatment, but this disappears within the next day.
A whitening treatment with the Brilliant Smile method makes teeth on average seven shades whiter. However, the result is individual and depends on the type and degree of discolouration. To get a fair assessment, you can book a consultation at your nearest clinic.
There are no studies that show that any form of teeth whitening is dangerous for the baby or the mother. Why then do most (including BrilliantSmile) have pregnancy and breastfeeding as a contraindication? The answer is simple! Since there are no studies showing that the baby or mother is not affected by the teeth whitening, it is not worth experimenting with a chance that could affect an unborn child's entire future life. Therefore, wait with the teeth whitening until you have stopped breastfeeding. However, you can use all our oral care products while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Yes, you can whiten your teeth when you have fillings. The filling consists of inorganic composite material and is not affected by the whitening. Note that the filling is not affected in terms of colour by the whitening and can therefore appear more yellow when the rest of the tooth is whitened. Superficial organic stains that have adhered to a filling can be bleached away during a teeth whitening, which means that a filling can also become slightly lighter after a whitening. To be on the safe side, expect that you may need to replace, for example, a very visible filling on a front tooth.
How long it takes for your teeth to become discoloured again depends on your lifestyle and dietary habits. It is most common to want to repeat the treatment after three to five years.
How long it takes to achieve the desired result depends on your conditions and the treatment method you choose. In home bleaching with a tray, it is common to bleach the teeth for 7 days, whether the treatment takes place during the day or at night is determined at your consultation. With a clinic bleaching, you get a significantly faster result. This is partly because stronger preparations are often used, but also because a clinic bleaching involves light-treating the teeth in three rounds. The lamp accelerates the bleaching process because the gel oxidises faster. Compared to older and more complex methods with halogen lamps and the like, teeth whitening with LED Plasma Light technology is very comfortable and gives fantastic results. Expect a clinic bleaching, including pre- and post-consultation, to take 1.5-2 hours. If you want more detailed information, you can read more about our available treatment methods.
Oral care with whitening
Most oral care products marketed today as budget "whitening" products in stores have no proven effect. The few products that have an actual whitening effect usually achieve this through a high abrasion factor. This is something that damages the teeth's enamel and should therefore not be used for a longer period. Brilliant Smile's oral care series dissolves superficial discolourations with the help of active ingredients and has no harmful abrasive effect. Studies proving the effectiveness of the active ingredients are well documented. The products are completely safe for the enamel and should be used every day for a healthier and whiter smile.
During a tooth bleaching treatment, an oxidising substance is used which releases free oxygen radicals and breaks down organic material. Usually, hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient in the gel. Tooth enamel consists of 96% inorganic material, the remaining 4% is organic material in the form of, among other things, discolouration packed inside the enamel structure. The discolourations break down into carbon dioxide and water when they react with the hydrogen peroxide, resulting in a whiter smile. The debate about the 'bleaching effect' of whitening products comes and goes. The question is, of course, whether they work or not. The answer is that a toothpaste cannot bleach the teeth as it would require some form of oxidising substance, such as hydrogen peroxide. Since this substance is not legally allowed as an ingredient in oral care products, toothpaste cannot have a bleaching effect. In addition, the exposure time during tooth brushing is too short for any hydrogen peroxide to have a noticeable effect. So, by tooth bleaching, we mean removing discolouration inside the tooth, using an oxidising hydrogen peroxide gel or similar. Our whitening toothpaste and whitening mouthwash, however, dissolve discolourations on the tooth surface with the help of active ingredients. The oral care products are free from harmful abrasives and do not contain hydrogen peroxide or other oxidising substances.
Absolutely not! Our oral care range is suitable for anyone who wants to take extra good care of their teeth and keep them as white and healthy as possible.
The blue toothpaste, whiteningevo toothpaste is our original toothpaste, to be used morning and night every day to keep teeth white and healthy. It contains active ingredients that dissolve surface discolourations without harmful abrasives and at the same time ensure that new discolourations do not stick to the teeth. Daily use provides excellent protection against cavities, plaque, tartar, sensitivity, and bad breath.
The red toothpaste, whiteningboost toothpaste contains a higher concentration of active ingredients - and additionally two extra whitening ingredients. It removes all surface discolourations in just two weeks and thus works as an intensive treatment when you want a little extra BOOST.
The active ingredients in the mouthwash dissolve dirt and stains on the teeth, making them easier to brush away. Thus, you could say that the mouthwash does the preparatory work in the whitening process and should be used to achieve the best possible result. The mouthwash also reaches between the teeth where the toothbrush does not reach, which is important for the tooth as a whole to look white. The fact is that if the middle of the tooth is white but the edges are yellow, the tooth will still look yellow.
Oral care o.32 maximum fluoride
Brilliant Smile's o.32 is an oral care range with maximum fluoride content developed together with Swedish fluoride researchers and dentists. The result is a beneficial toothpaste and mouthwash that together provide the best possible protection against both cavities and sensitive teeth. The name, o.32 refers to the fluoride content, which is 0.32% Sodium Fluoride. Traditional fluoride rinses contain between 0.05-0.2% Sodium Fluoride, which means that Brilliant Smile's o.32 Fluoride Rinse has the highest fluoride content on the market – simply a more effective fluoride rinse!
Yes, since o.32 Toothpaste and o.32 Fluoride Rinse both contain high levels of fluoride and potassium nitrate, it is a very effective oral care series against both cavities and sensitivity. The toothpaste also contains hydroxyapatite which remineralises the teeth and inhibits the caries bacteria's ability to attack the enamel. This makes Brilliant Smiles o.32 a very effective oral care series that can be used daily for preventative purposes.
Fluoride is a well-known and proven ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwash that prevents cavities and strengthens the enamel of the teeth. Scientific studies show that an oral care product containing a higher amount of fluoride provides an increased effect and prolongs the duration of protection. Brilliant Smiles o.32 Maximum Fluoride is developed in collaboration with Swedish researchers and the products are intended for daily use.

The most common cause of yellow teeth is that we consume discolouring products such as coffee, tea, cigarettes, snuff, strongly coloured food, etc. Discolouration can also be a result of heredity, medication, poor oral hygiene, ageing or a combination of all the aforementioned causes.
People with most types of discolouration can achieve a whiter shade on their teeth with the help of Brilliant Smiles' teeth whitening method. Therefore, we recommend that you contact your clinic for a consultation. Together with your therapist, you can look at what conditions you have and what results can be expected from a treatment.
The vast majority can achieve significantly whiter teeth from teeth whitening! About 15-20% of the population are difficult to whiten for various reasons! Examples of difficult discolourations can be very darkly discoloured teeth, thick teeth, grey discolourations, transparency, fluorosis, medication discolourations, red pigments in the teeth, etc. In these cases, longer whitening time may be needed to achieve the desired result. There are a few people who do not get any result at all. Although it is very rare, it occurs in rare cases. These usually have discolourations that are not organic and are therefore not affected at all by teeth whitening. Therefore, a consultation is always conducted in connection with your visit to look at what conditions you have.
